The Artist Date is a concept conceived by Julia Cameron, arguable, one of the goddess’ of helping your get your creative groove back, like Stella got hers.
An audible buzz was constant, as all different kinds of insects landed and bathed themselves in the pollen of each flower that were slowly but surely starting to die with the upcoming season.
Warmth, topped with a cool breeze of October air in Jersey hit my body, a tiny sheen of sweat gathering on my back where my shirt met my pants.
Peaceful, serene, solitary; simple ways to describe the feeling, being out in the field without anything but a pair of shearing scissors and the company of my bated breath.
As a creative human, you have to be able to manifest your own muse, you have to be able to find inspiration in the tiny, mundane pieces of life that eventually become sloppily edited together, eventually making your unique movie reel.
You have to be able to remember the moments where you feel grounded, when you feel like all the pieces of the puzzle are fitting into place, even if that fit is temporary. On the contrary, you have to be able to admit when those pieces are in disarray, when their edges aren’t fitting together the way they’re supposed to.
