A Poem for Pitbulls

Change the stigma, educate the ignorant.

These beautiful souls need us

because their voices are muffled

by the judgement and mistreatment

of human hands.

These sweet, sweet animals

are begging for our help

with their eyes and their love

and their compassion and companionship.

These gentle creatures

whom have nothing but unconditional love to share

are so often discarded and abused

to no fault of their own.


These sentient beings

whom teach us lessons of love

and will stand by our sides through the toughest of times

are a gift on Earth.


We do not deserve them and yet

they continue to give us chance after chance

to prove the ignorant and cruel wrong

even when those humans may not deserve it.


Thank you to these angels

thank you for your love.

Thank you to the voiceless

thank you for not giving up on us.


We will continue to fight for you

to be the your voice

to be your guardians

to be the ones that make a change

to be here for you through the pain

and to welcome you with open arms whenever you need.
