KIT Chronicles
For the semi-hinged human who appreciates movie reqs, music, memes, memorable reads, and a little glimpse into my neurotic mind.
Hey, hi, hello happy Fall friends. If you’re a 70 degree slut like me you are lovingggg all of the basic bitch Fall things on the Northern Hemi. K, that was a lame intro talking about weather because as I continue to trickle into this new skin I *feeeeel* like I’m re-learning how to do most things in life.
BUT ALAS! I am back with the KIT Chronicles and doing my damn best. Motherhood is insane. There is soOoOoO much shit they do not tell you about that you are up against daily and you’re just like, “how the Fuck is this my life now?”
Everything about it is hard.
Minimal sleep, keeping a human alive, breastfeeding, stopping breastfeeding, not murdering your partner, not getting murdered by your partner, loving something so much you don’t know how to process it, looking at your dogs and feeling immense guilt, 46 loads of laundry a day, not crying every time this little creature smiles at you, the immense boredom and monotony of the days. I could go on and on and on but I will not bore you.
If you want to know more, ask me.
If you want to know my birth story, ask me.
If you want to help a fellow mother out, ask her what she needs.
BUT NOW ONTO THE GOOD STUFF — KIT Chronicles will continue to hit your inbox at a monthly pace and will be a tad but less dense but the good stuff will still remain: movie reqs, music, memes, memorable (or not so memorable) reads, and a little glimpse into my neurotic mind 😵💫.
ON MY BOOKSHELF
Before We Were Innocent - Ella Berman
3 teen friends head to Greece for one last shabang before college and shit. goes. down. Drama, death, and Berman’s writing style made this an easy and encapsulating read - def recommend. 8/10
MOVIES AND SHOWS I RECENTLY WATCHED AND THOROUGHLY ENJOYED
The Changeling (CW: huge themes of PPD and the load of motherhood)
I cannot get this show out of my head for many reasons and not just because it hits close AF to home. Narrarated by Victor LaValle (who wrote the book), The Changeling ventures through the relationship of Apollo and Emma. They fall in love, have a beautiful baby boy, shit hits the fan, alternate universe steps in, and wowowow. As a mother, there were monologues that brought me to tears (especially Adina Porter’s performance in episode 7). As a viewer who loves a good creep factor, I was sufficiently SCARED in some of the earlier episode. As a storyteller, I love how this show pieces together a storyline in a jumbled but understandable manner. Not for the faint o heart, but highly recommend. [Also, still trying to figure out why they DO NOT put CW or TW’s on PPD when i’s depicted in movies?]

PITNESS IN THE PARK 2023
The annual fundraiser I co-found is happening next week and you’re invited! The 6th Annual Pitness in the Park is happening on Saturday, October 21st from 11:00AM-4:00PM at Hamilton Park in downtown Jersey City featuring local vendors, fitness classes, pet portraits, a leash clinic, raffles, and more. The fundraising event helps promote positive Pitbull awareness and raises funds for local rescues. The event is 100% donation and volunteer based with all proceeds being donated directly to Jersey Pits Rescue. The event is dog-friendly and we ask that all dogs that attend must be dog + people-friendly.
Can’t make the event but want to donate or help out the cause? Buy a ticket! All proceeds go to Jersey Pits Rescue OR share our IG (because the algo kills us :)
