To Leslie - The aforementioned movie featuring Andrea Riseborough that I absolutely LOVED. A small town Texas mother wins the lottery, drinks it away, and tries to find herself again. Get your tissues ready but also get ready to giggle and vote for the underdog.
Mayfair Witches - Another Anne Rice novel comes to life thanks to AMC. The cinematography is beautiful, I can’t decide is Alexandra DaDarrio is stunning or frightening, and it’s got a co-dependent love story featuring an immortal that you can’t look away from.
MO - Comedian Mo Amer goes through the trial and tribulations of being a 30-something Palestinian refugee in the weird city that is Houston, Texas. Mo’s character is hilariously neurotic (which you can’t blame him for) while also being charming and caring for the ones closest to him. With a peek into the justice system (gag), I belly-laughed, got choked up, and look forward to season 2. Only bad thing I will say is that he makes some derogatory comments about PitBulls and that’s not my style :)
